Michael Laor’s journey began in the desert city of Beersheba and unfolded across worlds of technology, wilderness, and art. After more than four decades in high tech—including years in Silicon Valley—he stepped away to follow a long-held calling to write. 

A hiker and skier drawn to remote landscapes, Michael has traveled and trekked across Israel, Europe, Central Asia, and the United States. These journeys—through deserts, mountains, and inner terrain—shape his fiction, which explores love, ambition, creativity, and the quiet cost of freedom. 

Now retired, he devotes himself entirely to writing, pursuing studies in literature while working on his next novel and a collection of short stories.
